Great Fast Compact Flash for large digital photos |
I bought this card as an upgrade from a standard 256 MB compact flash to use on a Canon 10D 6.3 megapixel Digital SLRStorage: 204 large fine Jpeg at 3.5 MB mega pixel images 75 Raw files approx 6 MB each. Much more with a lower resolution camera or file size. Firstly, this card writes large image files very fast compared to a standard CF card. Its 512 MB capacity means that you probably won’t run short of space on an average days shooting. Pros: Fast read and write speeds, good price, no errors (with a Canon 10D) good amount of storage, fast download from card to PC, even faster with a USB 2.0 card reader. Cons: none so far, but would be nice if bytestor made a 1 gigabyte version.

Excellent Value |
I can confirm that it does indeeed work with a Canon IXUS 400 but remember to format it first (a function available on the camera).Much cheaper than branded cards and has worked like a dream so far so why pay more? One funny Ive had is that my camera reckons the capacity is only 487mb but it also reckons the 32mb card supplied by Canon is only 30.4mb so presumably this is something that happens with all cards? On the Canon IXUS 400 it can store 247 pictures at maximum resolution and over 1,500 at the lowest resolution!
